Are you using iCloud Photo Library with "Optimize Storage"? The file may be unreadable, it may be missing, or stored in iCloud and cannot be downloaded quickly enough, because the network is slow. This can have several reasons: For the duplicate in your Photos Library the original image file may not yet have a thumbnail image and so it cannot be shown. When a duplicate comes up in the window asking if I want to import, it only shows the image I want to import, and it's blank where the "original" photo should appear. This will protect them from accidental deletion.Īs to this problem: I'd check in Photos the state of the photos without thumbnails. Select them and use "File > Consolicate" to copy them into the Photos library.
